Volume Licensing Information
Volume Licensing Programs
You may have acquired licenses for Microsoft software through the Open, Select
or Enterprise Agreement volume licensing programs. Some organizations may have
received licenses through more than one or all of the three programs during the
claim period. To obtain a copy of Microsoft’s records of your volume license
purchases, scroll down to the license program that applies to you and follow
the instructions in that section.
Microsoft Open License Program
Microsoft Open License is a software licensing program designed for entities
who purchased as few as five licenses.
To obtain your Open License Purchase information to submit with your Claim
Form, go to the eOpen website
https://eopen.Microsoft.com and follow the steps below:

Click on "Sign-In .net" button.

Enter your email address and password for your .net Passport account.
-
Click on "Sign In."
-
You will be taken to the Microsoft eOpen homepage.
Note: If you do not have a .net Passport account, you will need to
create one before proceeding with these instructions. After you have clicked on
"Sign In .net", click "Get one now" and you will be taken to the .net Passport
registration page. Complete the registration, and return to the eOpen website
to continue.
Please go to either the First Time User or Existing User sections below.
First Time Users:
a) If have not done so already, please fill out your profile and follow the
steps below to obtain your volume licensing information:
b) Enter the Authorization Number(s) and License Number(s) provided by the
reseller who originally sold you your licenses. You should reference the
documentation provided to you when your licenses were originally purchased. If
you have difficulty locating your Authorization and/or License Number(s),
contact your reseller.
c) Click "Add to View". This will display your volume information.
d) Repeat these steps for each additional Authorization/License Number.
e) Continue with the directions for "Existing Users" below.
To view your company’s license purchase history, follow the steps below:
a) Select "Agreement Summary" on the left side of the eOpen webpage to view
your company's license purchase history and follow the instructions below: On
the "Agreement Summary" page, click on the "License Number" for each license
with an Order Date from and including May 18, 1994, and through March 17, 2003.
b) If the "Product Description" lists Windows or MS-DOS, Office, Excel, Word,
Works Suite or Home Essentials 97 or 98 click on "Print License" to generate a
printer friendly copy of your license information.
c) Submit the printed license information with your Volume License Claim Form.
Microsoft Select and Enterprise License Programs
Select
Microsoft Select License is a software volume licensing program designed for
entities with 250 or more desktops and mixed product and purchasing
requirements.
Microsoft Enterprise Agreement
Microsoft Enterprise Agreement is a software volume licensing program designed
for corporate customers with 250 or more desktops. As an Enterprise Agreement
customer, customers license Microsoft software to standardize on their choice
of the Microsoft enterprise products (Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft
Windows Professional upgrade, and Core Client Access License) based on a
three-year agreement term.
To obtain your Microsoft Select and Enterprise Agreement license purchase
information to submit with your Claim Form, find the scenario below which most
accurately represents your current situation, and follow the associated
instructions:
A. If You ARE the PRIMARY or NOTICES contact and HAVE ACCESS to your Volume
Licensing Information using the MVLS website:

Log onto the MVLS website (https://licensing.microsoft.com)

Click on "Sign-In .net" button.
-
Enter your email address and password for your .net Passport account.
-
Click on "Sign In." You will be taken to the MVLS homepage.
Note: If you do not have a .net Passport account, you will need to
create one before proceeding with these instructions. After you have clicked on
"Sign In .net", click "Get one now" and you will be taken to the .net Passport
registration page. Complete the registration, and return to
https://licensing.microsoft.com to continue.

Click on "Agreement Summary" to view your company's license purchase history.

Select "All" on the "Agreement Status" dropdown and click "OK".

On the "Agreement Summary" page, click on the "License Summary" for each
Enrollment with a "Start Date" from and including May 18, 1994, and through
March 17, 2003.

If the "Product Description" lists Windows or MS-DOS, Office, Excel, Word,
Works Suite or Home Essentials 97 or 98, click on the product to display your
license information.

"Print" to print this page and submit it with your Volume License Claim Form.
Note: None of the products under "Servers" should be included in your
Claim Form (Servers are excluded from the Settlement.).
B. If You ARE a PRIMARY or NOTICES contact and DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to your Volume
Licensing Information using the MVLS Website:
To view your agreements on the MVLS website, you will need your Registration
ID. This Registration ID was sent to you in an invitation email when you were
first listed as the Primary or Notices Contact.
If you do not have this invitation or it has expired, you may request it again
by contacting the Settlement Administrator at 1-800-928-1638, or contacting the
MVLS support center via email at mvlshelpa@msdirectservices.com or
by phone at 1-866-230-0560. You can also connect to the MVLS support center by
clicking on the "Support" link in the lower left hand corner of the MVLS site.
Once you receive your registration ID, you can gain access to the MVLS website
and find your posted agreements by following the steps below:

Log onto the MVLS website at (https://licensing.microsoft.com)

Click on "Sign-In .net" button.
-
Enter your email address and password for your .net Passport account.
-
Click on "Sign In." You will be taken to the MVLS homepage.
Note: If you do not have a .net Passport account, you will need to
create one before proceeding with these instructions. After you have clicked on
"Sign In .net", click "Get one now" and you will be taken to the .net Passport
registration page. Complete the registration, and return to
https://licensing.microsoft.com to continue.

Click on the link provided in the invitation email or go to:
https://licensing.microsoft.com/eLicense/L1033/acceptagreement.asp
-
On this page, you can enter the Registration ID number provided in the email
invitation you received.

Read the Terms and Conditions listed and click on "I Accept".
-
Once completed you will go directly onto the Summary Agreement page on MVLS.
-
Follow the instruction in Section A, steps 6 through 9 above.
C. If You are NOT the PRIMARY or NOTICES contact and DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to your
Volume Licensing Information using the MVLS Website:
To gain access to your volume information, you will need to do one of the
following:

If you know who the original Primary or Notices contact is, contact them and
determine if they have access to MVLS. If they have access, they will be able
to grant you access by "inviting" you to the account. Ask them to add you to
the account by following the steps listed in Section D below.
If the original Primary or Notices contact does not have access, they will need
to follow the instructions at the beginning of Section B to obtain access. They
can also follow Step 2 below to become the primary or notices contact by
contacting their reseller.

If you do not know who the original Primary or Notices contact is, contact your
Microsoft product reseller and follow the steps below:
a) Instruct the
reseller to change the license contact information.
b) Once the change has been processed, a new invitation email will be generated
and sent to you and you will become the Primary or Notices contact.
c) Follow the instructions listed in Section A above to obtain your volume
licensing information.
Note: For security reasons, if the MVLS account is not activated, using
the Registration ID provided, within 90 days from the date the invitation email
is received, it will automatically expire and become invalid. Should you need
to request a new Registration ID contact the MVLS support center at
mvlshelpa@msdirectservices.com.
D. If You are the PRIMARY or NOTICES contact and would like to GRANT YOUR ACCESS
TO ANOTHER PERSON:
Follow the steps below to log onto the MVLS website and use your administrative
rights to grant access to another person.

Log onto the MVLS website at (https://licensing.microsoft.com).

Click on "Sign-In .net" button.

Enter your email address and password for your .net Passport account.
-
Click on "Sign In." You will be taken to the MVLS homepage.
Note: If you do not have a .net Passport account, you will need to
create one before proceeding with these instructions. After you have clicked on
"Sign In .net", click "Get one now" and you will be taken to the .net Passport
registration page. Complete the registration, and return to
https://licensing.microsoft.com to continue.

In the Left Navigation bar, click on the "Edit User/Administrator List."

Click "Add New User."
-
Enter the new user information, listed on the page.

The new user will receive a Registration ID via an invitation email.
